Thank you for making enquiries into Little Treasures Quality Childminding. My name is Karen Dennis. I am married to Alec and we have four sons - Jamie , Leigh , Damon and Adam.

I have been childminding since January 1994 and am registered by Ofsted Early Years Directorate. I became a member of the Barnstaple Childminding Network in January 2001, when it was formed. I therefore have several unannounced visits a year, as well as regular monitoring and support visits from the network co-ordinator. I became accredited to offer care for the funded sessions for three and four year olds in October 2001. I also have curriculum sessions of a wide range of planned activities and learning opportunities which arise unexpectedly during the day. For younger children I refer to the "Birth-to-three Matters" framework to plan their activities.

My dining room has been converted into a playroom which is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with loads of educational toys. We use the kitchen for eating and messy play, such as painting, drawing, gluing, junk modelling and playing with dough. I also have a fully secure garden with sand and water play, slide, wooden play house and ride-on toys.

I have, of course, been police checked (CRB) and so have my husband and three eldest sons. I am fully insured by Morton Michele Insurance Services. The result of my last Ofsted inspection was “OUTSTANDING” and the report is available for parents to see. I childmind children from 0-14 years and am pleased to accept children with special needs. I am opened Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 7.45 – 4.30. Iam also able to accept the Nursery Education Funding for three and four year olds.
